My view of. Nu TLDn
I recently received the question on the Webmaster Network on my views. Nu domains and why I invest in this TLD, because my answer was a bit of the long battle, I thought even post it here:
I'm probably pretty much analysts, but with a keen interest in domains.
As many also know, I have for years worked primarily against. Com and. Now, but also against several others. Com,. NET and others.
TLDer.
And the most important factor that I see is that domain registrations is increasing all the time - locally, nationally and globally - I am convinced that it will continue as a very long time.
Why I think then that it is interesting. Now? "
Hmm so where do I start ..
"Now," meaning "Now" for over 31 million Europeans!
(Swedish, Danish and Holland)
So TLDn prefer "natural" interest in three languages - while. See only from 1
We take. See it has TLDn prospective customers of 9.2 million - more "can" it does not attract - for us is no more.
. TLDn-see in itself has about 730 000 registered domains, while. Now, in my estimation has 130 000 registered domains ie a total of about 18% of the corresponding registrations in. See
Furthermore, we Danes - over. Dk, there are approximately 835 000 registered domains - and then 130 000. Now - the equivalent of 15.5%
And finally it has. Nl more than 2.9 million registered domains - and the corresponding. Now 4.5%
It thus provides a proper "games room" for the "next best natural TLDn" for each country.
Can you then forward to "now" meaning "naked" for about 270 million people (France 64.5 million, 10.6 million Portuguese, French Canadian 6.8 million and Brazil 186milj.) So you get the info dimension ..
And then I have not even touched upon that. "Now" is pronounced "new" and has been able to attract the English speaking world, this is also interesting when so-called premium Nunames auction turned out to be best for me in English words. And it will be exciting to see what lands on [co.nu] who went to a British bidder in the auction last Premium - when the British "common" is the TLD [. Co.uk]
Quite clearly, there is already here is great potential for "add-on sales' for the active agent .. This should in my view be supported by the current domain controller.
But all this "can" of course anyone can pick up information on and is really nothing special.
Then a series of other factors in which that Danny Aerts on. SE (in fact, VeriSign) demonstrated that. Com TLDn (which is # 2 for the Swedish side) drops gradually on the Swedish market, which at (iofs rather long) term should mean that. now is / are the "next" key TLDn in Sweden (as in the current situation is # 3) to the number of registered domains seen.
To. TLDn now-proven to pull an interest (alerts) from the source (Korean, Japanese, Russian, Luxembourg, Germany and Belgium) which I do not see any real reason why, more than to increased interest in general for. Now
The Premium auctions preferred that large amounts (larger amounts than the officially most expensive. Com domain gone too).
To. TLDn now-despite the lack of any larger initiatives marknadsuppmuntrande for several years, after all, is constantly increasing, mainly in Sweden and Holland, but also in the other countries I listed).
It is for me a positive trend or a natural "flow" - sure. Now do not increase as markedly as. Look at the Swedish market, which then Danny Aerts was at the helm of. Com bet a lot of public and marketing (which I more than twice challenged), but also by "free" campaigns and "against heavily subsidized Officers' campaigns.
But still, there are also a number of Swedish businesses who chose / choose. Now that its main domain - which also increases - this is also positive.
"Problem" with. See (as I see it) is that. TLDn see-soon reaches a critical mass - ie some will remain. Se domains that are registered - but at about one million domains (as. Com, aiming to achieve years 2010), as are most "better". See options for a busy business - which then gives two alternatives - buy a domain on the secondary market, or invest in another TLD.
This also applies to. Dk and. Nl and is probably why the Dutch registrations continues to increase (despite a lack of promotion). But with the Danes, however, it seems to go a little slower, they seem to be "more faithful to their ccTLD" later by 5.4 million people have 835K regge. Dk domains (the Swedes 730K with our 9.2 million). Sure you can find reasons to. Dk is cheaper and earlier than liberalized. See - but I do not think there is only reason, but it recorded a lot.-Com domains in Denmark - why I do not know.
However, recorded some strangely in Norway - even though the "now" is called "reach" in Norwegian - but I think it is based on that. No domains can only be registered by the Norwegian company (or foreign) which are registered in "Brønnøysundregistrene "(equivalent of our company records) and these companies may register a maximum of 20 pieces. no domains were. Since the letter "u" is quite close to "o" on our qwerty keyboard, I think does not matter - or something to think about anyway.
In the current situation, I see three factors are directly adverse to. NuTLDn, but Nunames is as I see it a little flexible organization of about 10 people - where I guess a lot can happen very quickly if it wants to.
But to sum it all jiggle:
"Now" will always have a "natural" audience of over 31 million in three languages, then it has some relevance even in World Languages French and English, and even Portuguese.
When. See,. Dk and. Nl becomes "overheated" I see. Now as the natural option.
Then there is a bit of a "hidden agenda" or what to call it ... or factors which I keep to myself, that makes me "some time" focused on me pretty hard. Nu domains.
I could have written "I believe. Now" instead .. but wanted to develop my "off-topic answers"
